Tsudo S2 Axelback exhaust

Well not to poo poo premade parts, but you could pick up a cannon for 50-100 or even less and get it installed in place of.your current for 50-100 by an exhaust shop.
It's also not necessary to go to for stainless if you want to save some coin.

Better noise comes from catback exhaust systems, I'd either call some shops and research their prices for a mild steel system, probably 2.5inch would be as big as needed.

Unless you're installing them yourself off the shelf systems can be just added $$$$ for the same result

hmmm okay, which sites would you recommend for looking up parts like this and to start me off?
I've heard that it is good to go stainless? It wouldn't hurt to do it I guess.

Never installed a part in my life... yep... complete noob at it. Actually I'm a complete noob at everything at the moment:p.
I probably would get someone to install for me... or slowly try out and learn how to do it myself

If you bought an off the shelf system Made for your car, it's only three bolts and I'm sure you could handle it. Only need some gasket glue spread around when you put it back. (trillion YouTube tutorials too)

If you wanted a cannon, search for a cannon on ebay or just walk into your nearest supercheap.

just an FYI that they really don't sound flash, wet farty noises etc. You can ask for generic mufflers from local exhaust shops or you can look up brands such as: Lukey or redback (SOMEONE PLS CHIME IN WHO KNOWS MORE BRANDS) I think xforce make some nice parts.

Technically speaking stainless is more durable. In that stainless doesn't rust easily or at all after grazing and rubbing against things (the ground, stones etc)
Stainless is also apparently better at maintaining a cooler temperature and less likely to corrode from the inside.

However, for our purposes it's much of a muchness advantage. In my experience on low powered cars, they just sound tinny-er and thus less desirable. See if you can YouTube or google some videos of comparisons on something closely related to your car.
If you're new to this then you're probably not chasing giant power figures and more so s greater driving experience.

I'd get a mild steel 2.5" catback system if I were you, with any kind if muffler, maybe a resonator too (even if it's just a hot dog). It'll really wake it up but without being brash and distasteful

Hi all,

I'm keen on giving my Lancer ES Sport '15 a Tsudo S2 exhaust to give it a nice sound.
Seen some videos on it and it looks nice and sounds nice.
Has anyone ever used a Tsudo S2 or other Tsudo models on a Lancer ES?

Here is the link at where I might get it
http://www.semotors.com/tsudo-12-16-mitsubishi-lancer-4dr-5dr-de-es-gt-s2-axleback-exhaust/

If there are other places that sell this exact product please do tell

Thanks

That link. Cost of shipping from America?

Brands?

Lukey, Redback, Turbosmart, Hurricane, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Corsa, NRG, Genie, Wildcat.

Look, brand names mean nothing if you're only replacing the muffler.

If you paid a shop to install a muffler for you it would cost you 100ish. Thats over 310 spent on that muffler alone.

You can get a catback system for 350-400 which will actually improve performance to some degree and also give you a better sound. 2.5" for loud, 2" for mild. 2.25" for inbetween.

As for mild vs stainless, stainless is wank factor mostly. You aren't gonna see it at all and the sound from it is a bit more tin-like. If you want a stainless tip, buy one from supercheap that you like (that matches the piping size you get) and have them weld that onto the muffler.

If you do get a catback, muffler choice is more important. Hurricane, Lukey and Magnaflow are very solid choices for this. Doesn't matter which exact muffler it is, just match the inlet and outlet pipe sizes to the piping size you've chosen for the rest of the exhaust.

This was the stock CJ exhaust in the earlier models:

I then had the stumpy resonator replaced with a section of pipe and did a Magnaflow muffler from the axle back.

They definitely changed the rear muffler in the later model CJs (possibly even changed it twice), so you'd have to look under your car and see how many resonators it has.

Personally I would not do a cat back as the CJ already has stainless steel piping and it's a reasonable enough diameter as it is. I would start by just changing out the rear muffler and then if that isn't loud enough remove the second resonator (assuming your CJ still has 2 resonators).

As for cannons, they tend to drone and attract Police attention. So think of that before deciding whether to get a cannon or a sports muffler.

What would the net result be if both resonators were left as is and no muffler, just a pipe or third 2.5 inch resonator or maybe a hotdog?

In brief, resonators (also known as hotdogs) are "tuned length" mufflers of sorta. The exhaust gases expand when entering the chamber, and then reverberate back into each other, cancelling out some of the sound. Shorter resonators will cancel out higher pitched sounds, whereas longer resonators should cancel out the lower pitched frequencies. All kinds of resonators will reduce soundby some level.
Mufflers are a little more extensive than a resonator, in that they have a much larger area for the gas to expand, and as such will cancel out a lot more - imagine yelling in a tiny bathroom, compared to a large sports stadium.

Having the stock system without the rear muffler and just a pipe is the loudest. Next loudest would be replacing the muffler with a long resonator/hotdog. Quietest of all is replacing all resonators with mufflers, however you might get drone and other reverbrations as the system is no longer designed to cancel out these certain frequencies.

No idea. I had a piece of straight pipe I could bolt up instead of the magnaflow muffler. If you were hard on the throttle it had a nice bark to it, but it sounded like ass if you were just driving sedately.
