Immobilizer Disabling

Hi,

I need help disabling my immobilizer through ECU flashing, although I can't seem to find the right definition file to read the ROM.

Anyone have experience with this?

I've got a 2000 1.8L auto.

Cheers

@donki does for sure.
You need to make sure you have the right chip type in your ecu as well. There are two (I think) types 'F' and 'FA'.

Anyone know anyone that could possibly do it for me? I don't have access to any kind of hardware to flash. Would be willing to pay.

I would have thought the actual reader (RF) part was where the key goes in on the steering column as the range to power up the RF tag in the key holder is pretty limited.
Depending on version this goes to an immobiliser module under the dash towards the center console then to the ECU.

So you need to tape it to the steering column next to the keyhole...

If you need to "get around" it you will need to access the module under the dash.
Could be tricky as I believe the module sends code to the ECU - so just disabling it, removing it, or connecting lines to 12V or GND wont work.

Go to a wreckers and grab a new key reader.

Go home, disconnect original key reader at the loom, plug new reader into the original loom (as the reader of the new loom is now hanging free under your steering column. Now you can use the original key for the barrel, and as long as your new key matches the newly installed imob & ECU, just hold the new key to the new reader, and it'll start

@BasKorbee download this attached file, and change the file extension to .xml, and theres the definition

Are you able to post your rom as well? My ecu has the 23720003 rom and i'd like to compare them for my dissasembly.

I have the 23720003 ROM (hence why the definition is named such), so they'll be identical.
