Ch Suspension & Handling

Posting a new thread as I'm curious about suspension and handling mods for my CH

I've found a site for a company in america that offers quite a lot for the CH. Only problem i have is the difference in models between here and there and shipping costs. My ES is classed as a Ralliart over there, and I'm not sure if there's any difference in sensor mountings or connector types or anything.
Anyway, found a thick rear sway bar;

Some BC Racing Coilovers;

And a thick lower tie bar;

Questions;
Anyone running any of these or anything similar? If so, how do you like it, is it practical for a street car? Seriously considering the BC coilovers but not sure about the other 2 so i was wanting opinions.

Rear sway bar will reduce understeer, good handling mod. Don't know why you'd need the last one unless you were going all out handling setup though. Coilovers will be good, they are the same across all CH platforms. Will make the street ride a bit stiff unless you get custom spring rates

cheers man, thinking rear sway bar and coilovers. had a feeling the tie bar would be pointless to me. will have to try offload my new shocks and king springs and see how much im set to fork out for it. want new wheels too i feel like this is going to get expensive :/

If you upgrade the rear sway bar, make sure you upgrade or strengthen the mounts as anything larger than stock will eventually snap the stock rear sway bar mounts.

Bc coilovers are awesome for street/the price.

When I had my grip wheels on the lancer with the strut braces/the coils and rear sway bar, it handled gloriously. Kept up with evos/wrxs in the corners in the hills.

Any time you have another question, just chuck me a Facebook message bruh.

for coilovers contact Hens Performance he has set me up with Coilovers for a number of my cars including a CH and Evo 6

When taking anything above stock it would be good practice to strengthen any mounts/brackets/struts/supports, anything that might suffer any greater forces due to the modification.

fairly sure the kit with the thicker sway bar comes with some heavy-duty mounts and D-bushes.

Cheers man! will give them a call :)

As Gotham said, it's wise to add stronger mounts regardless but fairly sure that'll still be the same for the vrx

top link in original post, it's a company in america so price doesn't include shipping and shipping would probably make it pointless :/

The vrx rear sway bar is like 17mm or something, so if you had one of those with the vrx mounts then installed a white line 22mm (or something like that) the vrx mounts wild hold for some amount of time, but it will break eventually. Best is to buy a whiteline kit that comes with the appropriate mounts or something.

I'll be fabricating the entire rear compartment of my boot (bye bye spare wheel), and am now considering going RWD using an evo tranny, and a Torsen LSD. The whole rear suspension, chassis, cross member set-up, boot floor, and rear bumper will change shape radically. I'll use a sway bar and I'll need to make sure everything is rated and strengthened to get those 350 ponies onto the road without breaking anything. The issue I've had with the CH is the torque steer, it either veers smoothly, or pulls like crazy on throttle. RWD will sort that out, and a Double wishbone front suspension will enable the car to lean into the corners, as well as react quicker and lighter.

I'm going overboard, you won't ned to go quite so far as fabrication, so long as the mounting surface isn't warped or rusted/in bad condition. Just consider everything from the tyre, up to the body. Control arms, cross members, rods, links (rear is multi link, front is mcpherson strut with control arms), anything that can be subject to more force than normal due to a change of a component.

^^ that reminds me, make sure all your bushes are good/solid and you'll be laughing. Makes a massive difference

I just put BC's on my CH VRX and handles fantastic. Have not changed sway bars yet but really have very little body roll anyway.
Also have good quality tyres that makes a lot of difference.

Found whiteline 18mm (none bigger) rear sway bar with bushes and mounts for $185 delivered through work. Seriously considering.
