RA Snorkel Intake

Hey guys,
Was wondering if there was any difference/gains in the intakes between my MY14 lancer and a RA lancer.
Thanks

According to K&N the filters for RA 2.4l and 2.0l CJs are the same (part numbers) but the evo x is different. In saying that, the intake itself could be wider. The 380 in Aus had a smaller intake than its Galant twin in the US and was an easy upgrade, but not sure about CJs. Probably better to ask on ClubCJ which is a dedicated forum for CJ owners.

No one can quantify it, but it seemed to help fitting the RA duct and cutting the plastic trim to make a bigger opening.

Also buy your K&N filter off Amazon, they used to be much cheaper (and grab some oil filters too if needed)...

having owned both a ralliart and CJ lancer, it does open it up but you need to recognise that it's as only as good as it's ability to get to the intake. All that flexi piping with a smaller diameter compared to the ralliart would be pretty much meaningless unless you were just after a different note from your engine. The only reason I'm changing mine on my car from a RA to a AEM is for the bigger turbo upgrade I'm going for and it has a wide piping to the turbo than the stock ralliart turbo.

Hope that helps

Thanks everyone for the help I've tracked down and ordered a snorkel. In most of the links ive read posted here people keep talking about combining it with a K&N filter, the problem is i cant find on the K&N site what model filter will fit my car as all the ones they have are for RA or evos :/ Would anyone by any chance know what product number K&N panel filter will fit a MY14 cj lancer

Probs the same as an RA. Same filter size but just a larger snorkel.

My airbox seems to be different to that show in examples of people with the K&N filter, mine which you can hopefully see in the picture below is a tight seal with small reaching hooks to lock the box together.

While the other pictures of air boxes such as the one in the DIY above the filter sits in between the two sides of the box and the hooks reach across to the other side and this means the two sides of the box dont touch and lock together like mine do

Yeah the filter box has definetly changed. Amazon was saying the parts matched still. Who knows. :S
Maybe try see if the Ryco part number changed for yours.

hi newbie here,i just have a quick question and am unsure if im in the right place to post but here goes, the wife has a cj lancer 2009 2.0ltr rx auto tranny,i have been looking at some air intakes for the shopping trolley,im looking at the http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AFE-TAKEDA-R ... e7f8561a,i was just wondering if this is just a bolt on with no extending of hoses/sensors also sorry second question haha I was wondering about some springs only for it,has anyone had with experience with lovells or kings only looking at dropping 30mm eg sag wise or to stiff sorry for the long questions regards joel

Looks similar to the RRM Intake I had in the past. The shielding was a bit different but it is basically a hot air intake. It will sound better but you will lose performance and in many states you may cop a defect for it.

My advice, get a K&N panel filter (order from the US via Amazon) and get the Ralliart intake duct. Then cut away the plastic shielding above the radiator to make a bigger opening for the air. Otherwise, keep it stock.

Lovells or Kings will be fine. Personally King springs have dicked around a bit with the design of the rear springs for the CJ so I have no idea how it will sit, but from what I saw in the past it will give a slight nose down stance. No idea on Lovells but personally if I were to get a set of springs then I would choose Lovells and give them a go. As for stiff-ness that is subjective. The struts in the ES/VR/RX/etc are pretty soft and won't control the new springs as well handling wise. The VRX struts on the other hand are harder and will control the springs better but gives a harsh ride (depending on tyre profile and what you personally like in a cars ride).

thanks for the reply :),yeh I was hoping for a neutral stance sitting level iv heard the kings sit ass up thanks again.regards
